This event was one of our most popular prior to the pandemic, but we had to pause it due to COVID-19 restrictions at the art gallery.

Enjoy a cruisy ride from Esk to Toogoolawah (no gullies and no steep hills) for a special sunset reception on the terrace of 'The Condensery - The Somerset Regional Art Gallery' in Toogoolawah.

Then ride back after dark.

Enjoy a gourmet BBQ prepared by Brisbane Valley Farm Direct and opportunity to sample the unique Railtrail Champagne Cocktail ($6 per glass or $5 for mocktail version.) supplied by local winery Woongooroo Estate Wines.

Menu

Grilled Spiced Twice cooked Beef, Smokey BBQ sauce

Italian Pork and Fennel Sausage, Pesto Aioli

Simple Garden Salad

Maple Roasted Pumpkin, Feta and Beetroot Salad

Smoked Potato and Green Bean Salad

View the Thinking Business exhibition by Barbara Cleveland that “explores forms of female friendship, collaboration and artistic labour. The project takes its title from Hannah Arendt’s description of her friendship with Mary McCarthy. As Arendt wrote, “it’s not that we think so much alike, but that we do this thinking-business for and with each other.” This idea of an intellectual and creative connection between women is at the centre of this project, which focuses on the 15-year-long working relationship between the members of Barbara Cleveland.”

Meet in Lars Andersen Place near Pipeliner Park in Esk at 3.30 pm (plenty of parking with overflow in the adjacent Highland St). Depart for Toogoolawah at 4.00 pm.

Plenty of accommodation available in Esk for anyone that wants to make a weekend of it - Esk Caravan Park has two motels and cabins in addition to camping and caravanning, and the Esk Grand Hotel Pub offers good pub accommodation.

This event is graded as Easy and is suitable for mountain bikes, hybrids, gravel bikes and touring bikes. Bright off-road lights that can last for at least 2 hours are mandatory.

Night riding gives a whole new dimension to the BVRT experience, and this ride is a good preparation for the more challenging and hugely popular Yarraman to Linville night ride later in the year.

Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association reserves the right to postpone this ride in the event of adverse weather conditions or other such factors that could affect the safety of participants.

We are all ambassadors for our sport - the BVRT code of conduct must be followed at all times.

Cost only $60 to cover catering, admin, and insurance costs.

All bookings are subject to acceptance of our liability release and indemnity waiver.
