Welcome to the regions and towns of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail

From Wulkuraka Station to Yarraman, the Brisbane Valley Railway line was originally built at great cost and sacrifice to connect the communities and bring vital agricultural produce, raw materials and supplies to and from the booming city of Brisbane.

The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail has now taken its place following the route of the original railway line as it snakes through the same towns and regions, enabling visitors to enjoy the friendly rural communities, the real country lifestyle and experience the real outdoor adventure of the Brisbane valley Rail Trail.

“Although we are really close to Brisbane you will think you are a world away as you explore the villages and discover the breathtaking mountain scenery, native forests, placid waterways and our picturesque patchwork landscape.” Somerset Mayor, Graeme Lehmann.

Those looking for a relaxing time will find a range of eateries with good coffee, indulgent retreats, farmstays, camping and caravan sites, and heritage places in the towns and villages  all along the way.

The rural communities along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail look forward to welcoming you and sharing their country lifestyle.
