Australia’s first 24-hour rail trail endurance cycling event.

From 7.00 pm on Friday night, this event will run all night and through the following day.

This is gravel racing at it's best. Ride from Esk to Wulkuraka Station in Ipswich, then turn around and ride the full length of the BVRT to Yarraman, and then back to Esk .

This event will be on the fully completed rail trail, including the great new section from Toogoolawah to Moore.

Just completing the course is a major achievement, but if you can get anywhere under 20 hours, you're a super human (current record of 18 hours and 11 minutes is held by Rebecca Stone).

This is 24-hour gravel racing for a total distance of 322 km with a net height gain of 375 metres on a fairly rough track, with a number of challenges along the way.

The event will follow the code of the Tour Divide:

• Ride 100% of the route

• Aim to finish in under 24-hours

• No outside support apart from food drops provided by the organsers

• Do not go forward on the route except under your own power unless there is a serious mechanical problem.

• No prizes but every person who finishes the course will receive a custom designed cycling jersey.

This event is primarily a "do-it-yourself challenge based on the purest of wagers: the gentlemen’s bet or agreement. Nothing to win or lose but honour”.

The only prize will be the satisfaction of a podium place and all finishers will get a custom cycling shirt designed for this event.

Participants are expected to be self-sufficient, but there will a safety team follwing the event to give assistance if required. There will be food bag drops at Fernvale, Esk, Moore, and Yarraman. Support crews are not permitted.

Mobile phone, GPS and powerbanks, adequate water, powerful off road lights and sufficient batteries to last 10 hours, a basic first aid kit including TWO snake bite bandages (one is not enough), a puncture repair kit and basic tools, and a light-weight, warm clothing will be mandatory.

This is an event for experienced and fit cyclists only. It's unsuitable for anyone who has not had experience of riding 200 - 300 km off-road in a single day.

Anyone who takes more than 14 hours to reach Yarraman will not be permitted to continue.

This event is unsuitable for anyone who has medical problems unless certified as fit to do it by your doctor.

Bicycles must be suitable for riding off-road – mountain bikes or cyclocross bikes only.

Please join the private BVRT E2Ex2 Facebook Group where participants can ask questions, share information, offer training advice, and hang out with fellow participants.
