Are you up for the challenge of Australia’s iconic and very unique rail trail gravel cycling event?

The event offers two options:

1) Ride the full length of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail in under 20-hours from Esk to Wulkuraka to Esk to Yarraman and return to Esk. BVRT E2Ex2 x 322 km

2) Ride 150 km from Esk to Blackbutt and return to Esk in under 10-hours

The E2Ex2 starts at 7.00 pm on Friday night and runs all night and through the following day.

It's a 'timed challenge event' where the challenge is to complete the course within the specified time limit.

The BVRT 150 km starts at 5.00 am on Saturday morning and runs until 3.00 pm

E-Bikes welcome in their own class.

This event will be the sixth BVRT Extreme 322 km and the fourth 150 km gravel adventure ride on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. From a small beginning, this event has grown in popularity every year.

This event is gravel cycling for a total distance of 322 km or 150km, with a net height gain of 375 metres on a challenging track.

Following the code of the Tour Divide, this "challenge is based on the purest of wagers: the gentlemen's bet or agreement. Nothing to win or lose but honour."

The only prize will be the satisfaction of a completing the challenge and all finishers will get a great, custom BVRT E2EX2 or BVRT 150 finishers jersey designed for this event.

Participants are expected to be self-sufficient, but there will a safety team available to give assistance if required. There will be food bag drops at Fernvale, Esk, Moore, and Yarraman.

Mobile phone, GPS and power-banks, adequate water, powerful off road lights and sufficient batteries to last 10 hours (for the E2Ex2), a basic first aid kit including TWO snake bite bandages (one is not enough), a puncture repair kit and basic tools, and warm clothing are mandatory (night-time will be cold).

There will be bag drops and water stations at Fernvale, Esk, Moore and Yarraman for E2Ex2 participants.

This is an event for experienced and very fit cyclists only. It's unsuitable for anyone who has not had experience of riding 150 - 300 km off-road in a single day.

This event is unsuitable for anyone who has medical problems unless certified as fit to do it by your doctor.

Bicycles must be suitable for riding off-road – mountain bikes, cyclocross bikes or gravel bikes only. Street legal E-MTBs are permitted in their own class, but will need multiple batteries.

Please join the private BVRT E2Ex2/150 Facebook Group where participants can ask questions, share information, offer training advice, and hang out with fellow participants.

Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association reserves the right to postpone this tour in the event of adverse weather conditions or other such factors that could affect the safety of participants.

We are all ambassadors for our sport - the BVRT code of conduct must be followed at all times.

BVRT 24-hour Ultra Extreme 322 km E2E Ride

BVRT 12-hour Extreme 150 km Ride

When: 5.00 a.m. on on 5 August 2023.

Where: Start and Finish at Esk Station

Cost: $140 earlybird.
