The BVRT E2E Extreme Challenge, Australia’s premier rail trail endurance gravel cycling event is back.
Ride the full length of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail in under 10-hours (160 km) from Wulkuraka to Yarraman.
The BVRT E2E starts at 6.30 am (first light) on on Saturday morning and runs for 10 hours.
This event will be a back to the beginning event based on the format for the first ever BVRT E2E back in 2017.
To reduce costs, there will be no significant Finish line village at the end and participants will head for the Royal Hotel in Yarraman to wait for the transport back.
This is 10-hour adventure gravel cycling for a total distance of 160 km with a net height gain of 375 metres on a challenging track.
Following the code of the Tour Divide, this "challenge is based on the purest of wagers: the gentlemen's bet or agreement. Nothing to win or lose but honor."
Everyone's a winner - just completing the course is a major achievement.
The only prize will be the satisfaction of a completing the challenge.
A custom designed BVRT E2E event jersey will be available for purchase.
Transport for people and bikes back to the Start in the Ipswich Grammar School playing fields will be available as an optional extra.
Participants are expected to be self-sufficient, but there will a safety team available to give assistance if required.
Mobile phone, GPS and power-banks, adequate water, first aid kit including a snake bite bandage,, a puncture repair kit and basic tools, and warm clothing are all essential kit.
This is an event for experienced and very fit cyclists only. It's unsuitable for anyone who has not had experience of riding over 100 km off-road in a single day.
This event is unsuitable for anyone who has medical problems unless certified as fit to do it by your doctor.
Bicycles must be suitable for riding off-road – mountain bikes, cyclocross bikes or gravel bikes only.
