Cancelled due to problems caused by recent extreme weather events.

We're excited to announce the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association Inc is bringing you the second BVRT Festival of Cycling on Saturday 2 July 2022!

With a choice of 40 km, 75 km, and 161 km distances starting in Wulkuraka, Toogoolawah and Linville, plus a major event village at the Finish line in Yarraman, this is gravel cycling at its best.

Choose your personal challenge and prove what you can do. Off-road fun for all levels of ability.

What's included?

  • Fully supported ride – first aid, bike mechanics, ride marshals and support vehicles.
  • Event timing with live results
  • Food and water stations with water, bananas, lollies and baked goods.
  • A pie from Blackbutt Bakery as a reward for climbing the range!
  • Event photos by Element Video and Photo Productions
  • Finish at the Yarraman Festival at Yarraman Station Park, including music, food, brews, markets, and rides.
  • Return shuttle available for purchase.

This is a fully supported cycling event.

There will be several ride marshals riding with you on the track, plus first aiders, a bike mechanic and support vehicles in case you run into any problems.

The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail can be a bit rough in places, especially since the floods, so this bike ride is more suitable for mountain bikes, gravel bikes and cyclocross bikes. Legal E-MTBs are welcome.

Transport back to the start lines can be purchased when you purchase your entry tickets, or you can make your own arrangements (please scroll down after you have registered to purchase a transport ticket if required).

Please note transport places will be allocated and you will need to obtain a 'boarding pass' from the festival transport manager on arrival in Yarraman. For Linville and Toogoolawah there will be an option to book transport from Yarraman to your start point prior to the event in the morning so you can leave your car in Yarraman.

Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association reserves the right to postpone this event in the event of adverse weather conditions or other such factors that could affect the safety of participants.

Start Times

The 161km distance begins from the Ipswich Grammar School sports oval - 7001 Pearse Drive, Brassall. Registration will open at 5.30am and the ride will begin at 6.30am.

The 75km distance begins from the Toogoolawah Station - History Museum, Cressbrook Street, Toogoolawah. Registration will open at 8.00am and the ride will begin at 9.00am.

The 44km distance begins from the Linville Station - George Street, Linville. Registration will open at 9am and the ride will begin at 10am.

The Finish time for all distances is 4.30 pm. For your safety, anyone arriving in Blackbutt after 3.00 pm will not be permitted to continue as we don't want participants to be out on the trail after dark. Transport to Yarraman will be arranged.
