Invitation to sponsor the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Festival of Cycling 2024 on 3rd August

The annual Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Festival of Cycling organised by the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association offers a range of both challenging and family friendly gravel cycling at it’s best with a finish line village in Yarraman organised by the crew of Wild Horse Community Radio Station where there will be an opportunity for sponsors to have a stall.

There will be four distances starting in Wulkuraka (the full 161 km length of the rail trail), Toogoolawah (75 km), Moore (50 km) and a very family friendy 22 km option starting in Blackbutt.

The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association is offering two levels of sponsorship: Gold @ $1500 or Silver @ $500 to help cover the estimated $25,000 costs of running the event that includes professional marketing and promotion, finish line flags, Internet connected live timing and tracking system, feed stations, water supply, catering for volunteers, bespoke bike racks for cyclists to use at the finish line, coach and truck hire for return transport of people and bikes, a professional photographer, public liability insurance, etc, etc. We also engage local community groups such as The Ambassadors for the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail to assist with the feed stations as a fund raiser for them.

The annual BVRT Festival of Cycling is a great promotion for the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and the regions it passes through.

This is a great opportunity to support fitness and health in our community as well as giving a boost to local tourism. When we last ran the event in this format, we attracted over 300 entrants. A large number book accommodation in the region for the weekend.

Profits from our events contribute to our fundraising for enhancements to the rail trail experience, such as the $15,000 mural by Brightsiders silo artists at the Nurinda Underpass and the recent $25,000 mural in Fernvale by local artist Susan McConnel.
