Diamentina to Wanora is finally officially open apart from a few minor issues still to be sorted as a result of a car crash on the corridor last week.
Users of the BVRT can now arrive by train at Wulkuraka Station and travel all the way to Toogoolawah without leaving the Rail Trail.
It’s been a long hard slog since we launched the initial campaign, so well done everyone who supported our work.
I’d like to say an especial thank you to the Queensland Government for the funding, to Jim Madden MP for Ipswich for his efforts to make this happen (I extracted a promise from him on the day he was elected and he’s kept the promise), and all the staff in TMR who worked hard behind the scenes to make this happen.
That’s half the job done. There will be an announcement about Toogoolawah to Moore soon…
