Australia’s toughest rail trail endurance cycling event
From 06.10 until 18.10
At Ipswich Grammar School Tennis Centre
Pearse Drive Brassall, QLD 4305
Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association / firstname.lastname@example.org
This event takes place on Australia’s longest rail trail - 161 km of adventure rail trail including the great new section from Toogoolawah to Moore.
Back in the days when the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail was a railway line, the trains normally took about 6 hours to travel from Wulkuraka Station to Yarraman, depending on how much time the train crew spent in the Linville pub on the way up.
No-one managed to beat the train in 2018 – can it be done in 2019?
In 2018, the fastest time was 6 hours and 33 minutes over a distance of 161 km. How will your time compare?
Just completing the course is a major achievement, but if you can get anywhere near the time that a train used to take, you're a super human.
When finishing the event in 2018, experienced gravel cyclist Keith Bremner commented with feeling, “That was the hardest thing I have ever done. I’m never doing it again.”
By popular demand, whilst parking and registration will take place at the IGS playing fields, participants will then roll back down the Brassall bikeway to Start from Wulkuraka Station, making it a true E2E.
Equal prizes for men and women TBA
Free water and snacks will be available at the check-points.
Participants are expected to be self-sufficient, but there will a safety team shadowing the event to give assistance if required. There will be check-points at Esk, Moore, and Blackbutt where support crews can offer assistance, but they may not offer assistance between the checkpoints.
Free water and great energy and morale boosting snacks will be available at Esk, Moore and Blackbutt.
This is an event for experienced and fit cyclists only. It's unsuitable for anyone who has not had recent experience of riding 160+ km off-road in a single day.
Bicycles must be suitable for riding off-road – mountain bikes or cyclocross bikes are recommended.
Join the BVRT E2E Facebook Group where participants can ask questions, share information, offer training advice, and hang out with fellow participants.
